Exiting out of menu

Hi all
everytime I want to exit out of the menu to get back tv the button won't work unless I press another button then press exit again and I just notice too the fast forward and rewind on recording only work on one speed.
Any ideas? cheers.

All fixed turn out it was the batteries what a plonker! ;)
