Not sure what the reason for this is, I have tried changing from 720p, 1080i,1080p 50hz/60hz and multi and nothing makes a difference. On SD everything is jagged and blocky. Its clearly the box at fault as never had this issue with my old Zgemma. Any idea how to fix this or is something faulty.

Use webif and post better pictures so we can get a better picture of your problems. You can't automatically assume the box is at fault. Have you tried a different HDMI cable? Have you tried the box on a different TV? Have you reflashed your box with the latest ViX 4.1-009 image and setup as new with no restores? Have you setup the A/V settings correctly? Numerous possibilities.......

It was a brand new box yesterday from WOS, setup using the latest Vix Image. It doesn't actually look to bad on screenshot but is on the TV. The HDMI cable is the same I've been using for years, works fine on other boxes. As for other settings I've been through 720p,1080i,1080p and tried 50/60/multi, I can't see any difference. It could be the TV yes but the fact is the TV works fine on other boxes.

Compare the top right of screen shot with the top right of the photo I took, there is almost ghosting coming into play which doesn't show on screen shot. This leads me to believe something to do with HDMI port.
Try a diiferent (new cable). Even I have blamed a new receiver in the past until I took it to a neighbour and proved it was another component in the loop :)
Obvious is often wrong;)
Also whats the HD picture like?

HD Picture its just not right either, yes its clear etc but it almost goes to far and its getting slight ghosting. Could well be the cable, I will purchase a new lead when out and about today and see how I get on.
Sounds like settings on your TV might need adjusting.

webif ist not suitable... because the raw video data are just converted to jpeg. what goes out thru hdmi may be totally different.

Right guys changed lead an no difference. The odd thing here is on the like of menu items / epg etc its crisp and clear, its only on actual TV channels. SD channels are awful, like watching youtube in 360p

What model TV do you have (I am assuming there is nothing between receiver and TV?) and do you only have 1 hdmi input?
If more than one try one of the others ....
Also paste a picture of your setup/AV settings display

Hi, I have a 43" Philips 43PUT4900, It has 3 HDMI ports and I have tried them all. The receiver is connected direct to TV, Nothing in between. Its something to do with SD up scaling I think and I see another thread on here about that which went no where.

try changing refresh rate to multi
change display 16:9 to letterbox
in all fails backup and reflash, or reflash from new
Agree with the multi .... sounds really stupid but I always use it (:) ) and it has seemed to solve issues in the past
Also letter box.
Just noticed colourspace ... .. Is this normal for this receiver thought it was 4K only?
Certainly not on my receivers :)

The TV is 4K if thats any help. What does it do?
Perhaps try auto resolution instead of forcing 1080i
Just read up on the TV and it says from philips.co.uk web site 12/05/ 2016 you need a software (firmware update) for hdmi to work properly and sd upscaling is bad (from user reviews on that philips web site) ... they appear to be seeing same issues.
..... so hate to say this but you probably need a firmware update and crossed fingers
This is from the philips web site so not a biased view!

Ah well that might fix it. Got this TV last month and its been more bloody hassle than its worth.
That would agree with the user review starting in March .... seems like there may have been a few firmware updates to fix issues.
If not fixed I would go to the philips UK web site and give feedback, they do appear to get responses from philips.

Thanks for all your help with this guys. I did the update, do I notice much difference well its not as jagged and blocky, I have found quite an extensive menu of picture settings in the TV setting so will have a play with that, whats the worst could happen:rolleyes:
Well the reviews do indicate you have to play with the settings to get a better picture ... I ammjust a bit surprised that Philips didn,t fix things before release .... but at least they appear to be trying
Doubtful the issue is with the receiver, more like poor quality philips UHD 4K LED panel.

Possibly however as I said previously on this thread my old Zgemma did not have any issues.

Well I suppose poor quality supports poor quality :p
Chipset in the the Nano 2 Super is much more higher spec. I'd ensure any picture improvement settings are turned off on the TV.
If you go to google and type in avforums there are settings there for your tv
