Currently when I try to ff or rw about 8 tones speed it stutters and starts going backwards or just generally jumps it's only started doing it this last week. Any ideas?

Duo 2, OpenViX 4.1.008 (Release)

Moved to correct section.

Saying you are on latest is not helpful.

Please read the thread below and attach the correct information.

I have now narrowed it down to Itv that has the issues ff and rw above 8x speed. I have checked the signal and its 96%

Oh yeah , of course I am . Any ideas why it would only be on the one ( maybe a few more i havent found) channels? Also would reverting back to an older image fix this ? Thanks Darren

Oh yeah , of course I am . Any ideas why it would only be on the one ( maybe a few more i havent found) channels?It's more likely on an SD channel.

Also would reverting back to an older image fix this ?Not if it's the problem I've been looking into.

Yep, Birdman is correct, going forward is always a better option if this "issue" is to be resolved.

Thanks lads , hopefully it can be fixed.

I'm getting this issue too. Forwarding at anything over 8x causes it to go backwards. Only started recently, but it's a real pain. Takes too long to skip through ads now :D

Let me know if there's any info you might need to help resolve the problem.

Takes too long to skip through ads now :DAd skipping is more easily done with the 1/4/7 and 3/6/9 keys.

Please explain how to use 1/4/7 & 3/6/9 to skip adds.

"Menu/Setup/System/Recording and playback setting" allows you to customise the 1/3,4/6 and 7/9 buttons to skip a number of seconds.

1/4/7 buttons skip backwards.

That's good to know, thanks. Takes the fun out of trying to stop at the right point when forwarding at 128x though :D

Hope this bug can be fixed soon :thumbsup:

I moved from 4.1 to 4.2.005 last week (ET10K), and have found FF much worse than before. x4 starts ok, but then after a few seconds goes to x1 for a while before stuttering back to x4. I'll have a more careful look later to check it out in more detail.

Didn't birdman investigate this or a similar issue some time ago? Thought he had produced a fix?

ccs

...I'm sure he did, and they went live some time ago, but it doesn't seem right at the moment.

I rarely use FF, preferring to jump forward and back using the numeric keys, but there's a programme on at the moment which I'm FF'ing to skip past boring bits, and that's why I've noticed it.

This is a way easier method to FF or RW

"Menu/Setup/System/Recording and playback setting" allows you to customise the 1/3,4/6 and 7/9 buttons to skip a number of seconds.

1/4/7 buttons skip backwards.

3 = FF 15sec
6 = FF 1Min
9 = FF 5 min
and reverse for 1,4 and 7

cpl or 4 pushes gets rid of adds quick smart, and sometimes you get to know how long the add breaks are for different times of the day

easy as

...I'm sure he did, and they went live some time ago, but it doesn't seem right at the moment.I did. But all I did was to ensure that the python code always returned an updated position that pointed to a frame going in the right direction (the previous code could end up not moving at all - and hence looped for ever).
The lower forward speeds end up being done in hardware anyway (at least on my box).

Tried again (on ET10K), now on 4.2.006.

SDx4 works ok.

HDx4 works for a few seconds (5 or so) and then drops to x1 for a few seconds, and then back to x2 for a few seconds, etc,etc.

HDx8 works ok after a few seconds (2 or 3).

Purely out of curiosity:), how do you know that its done in the hardware ..... haven,t seen anything in the specs

Purely out of curiosity:), how do you know that its done in the hardware ..... haven,t seen anything in the specsAs I recall I added debug statements throughout the code, and for x2, x4 (and x8?) it never printed any, or rather it didn't print those in selected places..

... I was wondering as well, I searched everywhere but didn't find anything.

Typo in my previous post, it should have read "....then back to x4 for a few seconds, etc,etc."
