Hi,

I'm looking to buy a twin tuner cable box so that I can record one channel and watch another.
Is this possible as I'm struggling to see a twin tuner box on WoS website.
I only have a single feed coming into the house. Can I buy a splitter and then two extra cables to plug into two tuner sockets?

Thanks

I have the VU+ Duo with a 1TB hard drive with a load of movies and TV Shows plus I can record to it

No you can't split the feed with satellite. You could use the loop-through option with a twin receiver but you are very limited to what you can watch n record at the same time.

You mean for cable?

If you buy a box with 1xdual tuner, ie a VU+ you will only need one feed and will save yourself potential problems by splitting your feed, keep it simple.

Thanks for the response. I have looked on WoS website and from what I can gather the second tuner is via exernal USB? Which box actually supports dual tuner so the vermin cable goes into one connector?

Thanks for the response. I personally have satellite but it's for a friend. :)
As per my previous question question if I only have cable feed do i need to split it or is there one input but still two tuners in the actual box. The last time I did a cable box with one cable input and two tuners were back in the days of Starview.

It depends which receiver/tuner you get.

If there are two separte inputs, you can use a loop through cable or you can use a splitter. Loop through is better.

The Vu twin hybrid tuner has has one input connection and a "built-in splitter".

With the Miraclebox you would put feed into tuner a and then with a small cable you would loopthrough from a to b. With the Vu+ Solo SE v2 looks like you need to split the cable with a splitter.

Some retailers sell the Solo SE V2 with a dual DVB-C/T2 tuner instead of the S2 tuner, why the sponsor doesn't sell this configuration .. i don't know, it is what i would personally recommend.

I'd agree wholeheartedly! The VU twin dvb-c module whether separate as I have, or my mates built into the VU Solo SE V2 (as supplied by wos) which is also 'internally modded' , works flawlessly, requires but one cable co-ax input, allows recording on two and watch a 3rd channel and sometimes record on 3 and watch a fourth! (bouquet dependent), but all in all a relatively cheap and extremely capable upgrade (module) or out-right purchase- VU Solo SE V2 ..my two cents :-)
