View Full Version : [VU+ Duo2] Stuttering video
I have a straight forward set up - dish - VU+duo2 box - tv
Since installing 4.1 I am finding there is a "stuttering" video with certain moving objects. It does not happen all of the time and I have yet to try and get a pattern as to when it happens. It is only the moving object that stutters and generally the rest of the picture is fine.
Has anyone else seen this?
Strange you brought this up , I was watching cricket the other day and every time a picture came up say of the next batsman it started stuttering and the logo of the IPL .I honestly thought it was the channel but never had it before. Now you make me wonder
More info like is it live TV, programmes you've previously recorded on your box or just playing back of other media?
Mine was live tv it was just the logo and pictures when no logo or picture displayed the channel was fine. Might be worrying about nothing ;)
Mine is also on live tv e.g. a person bent over to pick something up and the movement from the waist up stuttered giving more than 1 image' The rest of the picture was fine
It's not likely driver related as drivers haven't changed since beginning of December and I haven't noticed this on my Solo2.
Is this on FTA channels as well?
I noticed it first on BBC1
I will test a few more live channels tomorrow to see if I can reproduce it .

Thanks Andy I think I am worrying about nothing I watched a recording of the formula 1 from live tv and no issues there .
I have changed from 60Hz to multi refresh rate and will monitor the results over the next couple of nights
I have had similar issues in the past and it was down to the refresh rate. It was set at 60hz and caused dodgy / stuttering picture.
Change refresh rate to what you know your TV can deliver, then restart GUI.
FP.
As Sky broadcast in 50Hz, should be no need to set multi for UK/IRE broadcast/recordings.
If there is, I'd check TV settings first.
Hi,
if you are not watching downloaded movies there should be no need to use other frequencies than 50Hz. Some strange effects especially with fast moving objects like balls can come from the frame interpolation of modern TVs. If possible try to disable FI.

I've always used Multi refresh rate and no such issues for me as regards stuttering and jerky scrolling graphics i.e. SSN HQ an example.

I have mine set to 50hz on my solo2 and haven't noticed this problem.
Interesting. I tried multi but my Plex sub wouldn't play something until I went back to 50 so I take it my telly doesn't support it

I have been watching in multi over a couple of nights and did not see any stuttering of the picture. I changed back to 60Hz last night to prove that was the problem but unfortunately it did not stutter on that either.
I have left it on 60Hz to see if it comes back - if not I don't know what was causing the problem!!!!
Why would you watch 50Hz on 60Hz settings?

60Hz was a legacy I kept using from some other programme ( I now realise in error ) and I cant remember what software I was using .
Anyway I am going to change it back to multi and hopefully forget about the problem.
Thanks to everyone who has sent in solutions etc.
