I have been trying for 2 days to get xbmc /kodi to work.

I was on vix 3.2 and installed xbmc but it would not play audio.
It was suggested I upgrade to vix 4 and use VU kodi plugin,so I upgraded and installed vu kodi

when I opened kodi plugin there was still some remanants of the xbmc I had removed using remove plugin before upgrading,I then followed Mr Mister s post re oroo kodi build and installed the sons files but got skin error and again no sound .Mr Mister has posted a new http address for the oroo build download but it must be from a clean kodi install.
I have been back and forth loading vix 3.2 and running upgrade to vix 4 but the sons files still remain

how do I totally remove all trace of kodi/xmbc files please
I hope this makes sense

Enable hidden files on your FTP client & delete .xmbc & .kodi from your storage device.
Or telnet:

rm -rf /hdd/.kodi
rm -rf /hdd/.xmbc

I thought the best way to upgrade to V4*was to take a settings backup of your current system, then flash the latest v4* from the USB port. On reboot mine saw the backup and asked if it could import settings, I said yes. Glitch free and it took 5 mins. Downloaded TS Media and Kodi from addons and kept it clean, and took another backup.

What you will notice if you download a fresh Kodi from addons, is Kodi seems to have given up and now specialises in mainly a porn. Kodi has a useful 'install from zip', which is great for installing showbox, which somewhat puzzels me, it was taken off TS media feeds because it has an Adult catergory, but it's diapered off the Kodi feeds too, which specialises in Adult content.

I installed Showbox from kodi and copied it accross to TS Meda. I couldn't get TS media to install a zip

but this is the SOLO forum
On VU+ Solo there is no v4 OpenVix version

And on the last official version for the Vu Solo there is no kodi, but KodiDirect

sorry testato, you are right. No V4 for solo only solo 2.

I would still take a settings backup and fresh flash any version of Vix you want to install. A fresh install is clean, fast with no remnants or old file corruptions or glitches. It only takes minutes and can save hours of fixing stuff.

You must be using a VERY different Kodi to me.

I'm talking about Kodi Direct from the feeds, not Andoid.

Android rocks...Kodi Direct on Python I can do without. TS Media seems to have all the plugins for movies and stuff. I do revert to my Andoid box when I'm looking for something in particular though, having said that I'm getting easier access to stuff from my laptop, which I connect to HDMI 2 via a long HDMI lead. I've got miracast but HDMI lead never fails. Great for hotel TV's too.

Kodi Direct & TS Media has nothing to do with Kodi though.

I'm not trying to confuse. When I mention Kodi Direct I'm speaking about the plugin from the Vix feeds downloaded onto Vu+ Solo2. On these feeds TS Media has the best plugins and Kodi Direct now specialises porn and has dropped most of the movie addons. Am I wrong, am I missing something?

The Solo2 is a great TV box, running Blue HD it's a breeze....you can get some reasonable plugins via TS Medai like showbox which work very well (but isn't on the feeds anymore and has to be installed via zip now) but for serious use of Kodi IMHO Android is the best route. TV Mix for IPTV is awesome again on Android, the Vix version... less so. I installed IPTV off the feeds 10 minutes later I was underwhelmed and deleted it.

vuplus-kodi plugin in extensions is based on Jarvis 16.1 RC2 and is very good by all accounts.
