Hello
I'm very much a new poster here, i've never really had much problems with my box.
I was on a beta version of openvix for ages and it seemed to work ok.
lately i've noticed a couple of minor bugs here and there so i decided to upgrade to version 4 (no restore, just flat out wipe and install via USB)
Anyway, i had so many problems with version 4 i ended up wiping the box again and installing 3.2.037, the last build of 3.2 i believe?
So far everything seems to be working ok apart from when im in timeshift mode, when i rewind it, then stop it to come out of timeshift it crashes.
Also while it does that, my router goes nut, lights rapidly flashing and no internet, if i switch of my box (gigablue quad) the router starts working again and the internet connection returns.

i have tried timeshift to be saved on two different hard drives just in case there was an HDD fault, one external and the other internal and the same fault appears.

I have attached a crash log.

Many thanks

ahh, to be fair it's the first time i've used mgcamd, i always used cccam before that.
I spent many hours trying to figure out how to setup mgcamd, and i ended up copying and pasting the settings from else where.
If i put up the config can someone help?

Change L: { 03 } 172.16.1.1 28007 /tmp/mgcamd.log to L: { 00 } for a start. But instead of mgcamd why don't you use a decent softcam like oscam?

Ok thanks for that, I'll give it a bash tomorrow.
I've never used oscam, my gigablue quad was my first ever Linux sat box and I've always used cccam, but I read a couple of days ago that mgcamd was the much better option, so thought I'd give it a try.
Would you say oscam is better? I'll happily give it a go.

Thanks

Ok I'll give this a try later on tonight, I'm assuming it will need some configuration files like mgcamd?
If so can you point me in the right direction of a guide that's shows you how to do it?
I'm typing this from my phone at the moment, so I'll ha e a look round the forums see if I find anything there.
Thanks

So....

I've not installed oscam yet, but just to get my timeshift working i have stopped and disabled mgcamd and turned my Cccam back on, and the same thing happens, ive attached another crash log.

Google is your friend. The learning curve is quite steep but once you get your head around it it's easy enough. Also Google cccam to oscam converter.

Will Oscam work for cable?
