Hi Guys, I've got a Duo i bought in about 2010, and i thought it was dead but its because i tried to install a new image on to it and it didnt like it. I had to install a new bootloader. Its all working again now but i notice that the remote doesnt work on the new images? it seems to work on my old images 1.3 and 2.1 but not 3.2 onwards? the remote i have is a replacement i got from ebay, would that be the reason it doesn't work on the new images?

Tried that holding 2+7 doesn't do anything, should the red led on the box be on? on mine its on as it starts then turns off i swear it used to be on and blink when i pressed a button on the remote?

Have you tried changing the remote control system code in the system menu on the box. Should be set to 1 for the duo I think.

Its called Remote Control Code and can be found in Menu >Setup > System

From looking at the settings menu and not seeing the remote control mode on any of the new VIX images i have tried

I can only see Recording and playback settings then goes to Subtitle settings

Theres something called Input device which shows dreambox advanced remote control (native) and that has opton Change repeat and delay settings? - no

What image version are you on? Menu, Information, About. 4.1-002 is the latest build.

im just going to put on the newest one that works, VIX 2.1 for now as that works fine with the remote. Seems like the ones with the picture of the white remote on initial setup work but anything with the black remote don't work. Its got to be that the remote isn't the original one which the kids killed :(
