I have just joined this site and not sure where to post my questions or if I am in the right site for the equipment I’m looking to install and use. I want to install a HIKVISION NVR ( DS7716NI E4 16CH UNIT) with 4 x HIKVISION CAMERAS (DS 2CD 2342WDI 4MP DOME UNITS). I will be looking to use 4 Solwise Home plugs that provide POE to the cameras over the mains. I have been told that some of the HIKVISION NVR’s will not support playing back in 4 screen mode with the cameras that work at 4MP. I don’t have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to bandwidth etc . So would like to know if there is a forum section that covers CCTV questions.

I models should do 4cam @ 4mp.

This model has POE http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/cctv-closed-circuit-television/Hikvision-CCTV-NVR-Network-Video-Recorders/Hikvision-DS-7716NI-I4-16P-16CH-NVR

This does not http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/cctv-closed-circuit-television/Hikvision-CCTV-NVR-Network-Video-Recorders/Hikvision-DS-7716NI-I4-16CH-NVR

I2 take 2 HDD, I4 takes 4HDD.

If you're only using 4 cams, any reason why you're looking at 16CH NVR?

hi,

need a little more info, like do you need room to grow ?, or are you only going to using 4 cam's. If the latter then imo this is you better option

Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2 8CH NVR (http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/cctv-closed-circuit-television/Hikvision-CCTV-NVR-Network-Video-Recorders/Hikvision-DS-7608NI-I2-8CH-NVR) (NO POE PORTS) as you say you want to use home plugs, bare in mind flooding your LAN with CCTV streams could effect you lan's performance.

Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2-8P 8CH NVR (http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/cctv-closed-circuit-television/Hikvision-CCTV-NVR-Network-Video-Recorders/HIKVISION-DS-7608NI-I2-8P) (WITH POE) and imo is your better choice, as cam's are connected directly to it, which take the load off your LAN, and no need to purchase 4 HomePlugs.

both of the above cam's are

Capability:

4-ch@8MP,16-ch@1080P

if you need more info i'll try to help.

andy.

If you're only using 4 cams, any reason why you're looking at 16CH NVR?

maybe because the older E series Channels are for CIF not MP, i.e. so 16ch box is 16ch @ CIF, and iirc only 4CH @ 1080p, the E series does not support 4MP anyway
