VU+ STB connected to unmanaged ethernet switch not working

Is there a reason why My VU+ Solo2/Zero will connect to my home network when they are connected directly to the router, but when connected to an unmanaged switch it doesn't work. DCHP or fixed does nothing.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your unmanaged switch isn't connecting to your home network. DHCP will almost certainly be managed by your router, and if your switch isn't connecting to your router then your Solo2 / Zero will be unable to pick up an IP address. What happens when you connect a PC / laptop to the unmanaged switch? Does it pick up an IP address, and can it connect to the internet?

Thanks chaser. It seems my 8 port unmanaged switch connected to the router may have a few cables not working and these just happen to be the ones I'm trying to use now! Gonna swap some cables around and see what happens. It's possible I've damaged a cable.
