Hi

Could someone please help. Got home from work and the normal sat channels seem to have gone a bit funny. Channel one is missing and number 1 is now channel two. Itv is on number 2.

All of my recordings won't work on itv now.

Sky channels seem to be ok.

Try rescanning ABM. Menu > Setup > Service searching > ABM and then start scan. After it has scanned, exit all the way out n press the tv button on your satellite remote.

that file doesnt work - error on reading data when you do an AbM rescan.
I kept the original .xml file (renamed) but now that is saying error on reading data as well.
box has been rebooted.
working perfectly till I tried the xml thing.

You may have done someting wrong or using an older version of ABM. I have just double checked it, it is working fine.

Uninstall ABM, then re-install it. You will be back to a working state although with a version that does not take into account the BBC One HD change. When the next image is built, it will be updated. If you still have an issue after re-intsalling, start your own thread, attach a debug log please.

thanks abu the .xml files are different sizes, the one from git hub semmed to work for me ( https://github.com/j00zek/eePlugins/blob/5dc9a3a9382b98f74d1dd5dda7b7cc69f6f8f538/AutoBouquetsMaker/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers/sat_282_sky_uk.xml ) after having tried the one above a number of times.

however I'm back to square one, ie. bbc one hd is out of order, sorry to be thick but whats the fix for that (or is it wait till the next image)

What has the size of the .xml file got to do with it?

abu baniaz
01-04-16, 20:03
They are different sizes because I removed the SD/HD version of regions. Almost everyone uses the Custom version as that excludes the HD channels you cannot watch, so I removed them so people do not have to scroll along. The actual changes can be seen with this commit link
https://github.com/oe-alliance/AutoBouquetsMaker/commit/c4c79c709b834bcba04497eeea88f985baf64009

The fix for BBC being out of order is to edit the "sd/hdchannelsontop" section. Above link shows what is required

Ok I understand this. Just wondering why this was an issue with bigvern because it was a different size.

You need to rescan ABM not just expect a reboot to fix it.

Thanks for the reply's, I have installed the file from post 14, restarted the box, re-scanned ABM, restarted again but nothing has changed BBC2 is still 101

File (sat_282_sky_uk) goes in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers/ and overwrites the one that's there.
Then Menu>set up>service searching>ABM>start scan

No need to re-start box

Willmoore, thanks for the info, just did what you said but still BBC2 remains at 101, not sure what's going on.

@Willmore, this is not good advice. CrossEPG downloader does not have any bearing on the ABM.

Reason that there is a problem is that the numbers being used are different for regions. We have performed a hack to overcome the phenomena.

Is the hack working M8, the channel number for BBC2 outside England changed Yesterday. I think that is the op's problem as he's using Northern Ireland.

I was only trying to help. It may not have solved the problem but it would not do any harm. There's a difference in ineffective advice and bad advice.

I'll leave everything to you to solve my friend.

Hello ALl,

I am in Granada region (North West) and as of this morning 101 = BBC2 HD 102=BBC2 Eng 115=BBC1 HD 141=BBC1 North West

So can I change the XML just to swap the 3 channels that I need amending 101 to 102, 102 to whereever, and 115 to 101?

THanks,

FP.

I did not solve it. Huevos did.

The forum is about sharing knowledge and for everyone to contribute. If someon has a puncture, would telling him to check the oil level be a good thing to do?

My intention was not to offend.

If any one try's a new xml and nothing changes, delete the providers cache file and then rerun.
Just as a note of caution to anyone using the file I posted last night, there are a couple of extra edits in there that I use for myself, they shouldn't have a detrimental effect if you decide to use it in the short term, in fact most people won't even notice them.

Right,,, I uploaded Huevos' new xml file for the UK. Restarted GUI, recasnned ABM and all back to normal.....:):)

Thanks Team!!!! Top Banana!!

Restarting the gui probably just reset the cache file.

Are you saying, if I get a puncture I should check the oil or I should not check the oil ? I'm rubbish with cars as well :D

No, check the glove compartments for snacks. We may be there for a long time!

Restarting the gui probably just reset the cache file.
If system date is correct and xml files change, old cache file will not make a difference. ABM will detect a changed xml file and use newer details.

We have hacked one of the channels into a the same slot as the other regions and made the swaps/channel on top correspond to the "new" number. Your xml file does not have this as far as I can see.

Huevos

The purpose of our change is to synchronise the channel numbers across the 4 nations so the swaps and HD bouquets work properly.

Thanks for the correction Abu --- and thanks for all the hard work Heuvos....

Done all 3 of my boxes now, by uploading the file, restart GUI, re-run ABM and all is okay. Just waiting for the call off my 2 mates about their boxes....... Ouch.,.,.,. They are proper Luddite...

No need to restart gui. Just upload to the box and scan.

You create a custom mix file

jonaldo9

You create a custom mix file

is there a tutorial on how to make my channel list my own way?? i.e if I use the above file it will make BBC1 HD be at LCN 101 and if I press up on my control it will take me to channel 102 and not 116. I want to learn how to do this so I can make small tweaks to my own listings in addition to your tweaks, i.e I want my +1 channels to be after the original, i.e ITV2+1 to be after ITV2 and in the correct number order like the BBC1 example above. The readme file in ABM only shows how to swap the location numbers but was hoping there was a tutorial on how to do this. have looked and cant find one

Any help gratefully appreciated

The favourites.xml system would be best if you wnat to do wholesale changes. Ths is documented in the readme file as well as teh thread that we have for it in teh ABM section.

Thanks, I thought I would have to do hacks to get it to work correctly so that's why I didn't think favourites was what I needed. will have a read through again. just out of interest, is there a tutorial on ABM hacks?
