View Full Version : Vu+ solo2 box pointing at 28.2 signal issue?
Hi there,
I have just bought a vu+ solo2 box from the sponsors of this forum and I am very happy with it.
Looking for abit of advice on signal strength. The majority of SD channels work however only a handful of HD channels work. Is this a signal issue? 47530
Many thanks
Danny
SNR is low - dish adjustment. Which HD channels are you not getting ?
The SNR (if accurate) is very low .. I start losing HD channels at about 7.1/7.2 dB so I guess (if you are in UK) you need to tweak the dish :)
Thanks for the advice,
Should I get an engineer to adjust the dish or give it a go? When I first put the dish up I just adjusted until the TV got a signal.
I only get bbc1 bbc2 channel 3 and channel 4 in HD.
And also e4 and more 4 don't work.

Adjust your dish.
Should I invest in a meter or just make slight movements up down and sideways?

Make slight adjustments. Gently apply pressure to the tips of the dish, you will know which way to go becuase the signal will increase.
If you can see the signal finder from where the dish is, well and good. Otherwise, there apps for mobile phones that will relay the information to you.
Thank you for your help. What app would you recommend for using? I'm on android and the box is openvix

Dreamdroid is one application.
... and when they say slight movements, I just tap mine with a finger! Or dependinging on the dish just turn the adjustment nuts a thread or 2 at a time until you can see what you are doing is correct!

That's great thank you. I have downloaded the vu+ application on android and when I go into signal meter I can see the signal options change for each channel, when I select e4 and e4 +1 the options show zero. Is this normal?
