View Full Version : [VU+ Duo2] Wrong frequency displayed for service in Infobar

I've noticed that with the original 4.0 build there is a bug where on the infobar on some channels the wrong frequency is being displayed. In the majority of cases where it happens the frequency displayed is shifted upwards by 2415 MHz, but I have seen on a couple of higher frequency end low band transponders where the frequency is displayed as shifting downward by 1879 MHz- 11656V becomes 9777 while 11671H becomes 9792. When both these frequency shifts happen, originally when you select the service with the infobar fully open with current programme details, the correct frequency is displayed for approx 0.5 seconds before it changes. In the cases where the frequency is shifted downwards, the satellite label ID also changes from "Astra 2E/2F/2G" to just "28.1E".

This is affecting reception of transponders on both polarities, both low and high bands, and on both DVB-S and DVB-S2 transponders. But curiously some transponders don't seem to be affected. Where it is affected the correct parameters are displayed on the "multiplex" option in the service information menu, but the but the frequency error is displayed under "tuner stats".

This has only started to occur for me with a clean install of Openvix 4.0 - no settings have been restored.

It's not a show stopper, but it can make figuring out what transponder a service is coming from trickier without going into the menus

Hi,
this is a VU driver bug. In the beginning they did not read the tuner values at all. They changed it a round a year ago but did not take LOF into account.

I reported it on 15th May 2015 to VU.

ciao

When you go to Satfinder or manual scan you'll see that the correct frequency is being displayed there.

When you go to Satfinder or manual scan you'll see that the correct frequency is being displayed there.Which shows that the box does know the correct values. So if it is displaying wrong ones that means it is trying to get the same information from two different places, which is never a good idea.

Menu>Setup>System>User Interface>Settings>

scroll down to Infobar frontend data source (which is set to"Tuner") change this to "Settings"
Green to save & exit all menus

Now the correct Frequency will be displayed in the Second infobar etc

Well, there are actually 'two places' (lamedb & tuner read out). The info on info --> stream is supposed to be the actual data as observed from the tuner; in that screen you can also choose to see the lamedb data, to see if the two differ. Only thing is that VU forgot to implement both the high & low frequency band (as offset from the LOF).
Manual scan and satfinder are there for different purposes.

Thanks! That's done the trick.

Also thanks to everyone else for their contributions, I never seen this bug before in previous OpenVix images, but maybe the settings were different.

Let's say it a bit different: now the values of the lamedb are presented. But normally the frequency in the lamedb will be correct.
