View Full Version : [VU+ Solo2] MediaPortal on Vix 4.0
Hi - just done the new Vix 4.0 flash via Image Manager. All went well apart from lost plugins incl MediaPortal. Tried the feeds and its not showing there - also tried the manual opkg telnet command and downloading an older .ipk file. Nothing worked. Any idea when this will be back online on feeds. Or any work arounds - version was 7.7.4 for MediaPortal. I haven't tested tsmedia yet though. The version I have is the brand new one launched yesterday.

The plugin has been deleted from the feeds because the license doesn't allow us to distribute it.
Hi,
download latest version (7.4.4 I think), copy it into /tmp on the box and then opkg install *.ipk --force-depends
ciao
For example from Xtrend-Alliance.

I've tried this with the latest version of Mediaportal I run the telnet command I get
"Collected errors:
* opkg_prepare_url_for_install: Couldn't find anything to satisfy '*.ipk'.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
Install normal way from /var/volatile/tmp using ViX function the one Rob placed to message #6. Then let it update itself. Latest version today seems to be 7.4.5.
You have to rename the file for example in mediaportal.ipk

Hi tappari
Thanks for your reply.
I've just tried this and when I hit install it starts but then I get this.
Execution progress:
Collected errors:
*opkg_prepare_url_for_install: couldn't find anything to satisfy '/tmp/.ipk'.
Execution finished!!
Any ideas?

Cheers mate, worked a treat
I didn`t even bother to rename it, but I installed it using telnet: opkg install /var/volatile/tmp/*.ipk --force-depends
I installed it via Terminal and got these errors:
Collected errors:
* opkg_lock: Could not lock /run/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

I understand that OpenViX comes bundled with Gstreamer but I still wonder if those errors above can explain why most streams currently don't work for me?
Hi,
these errors do not have to do anything that streams are not working. If installation failed nothing would work. I think these 3 plugins are preinstalled. I just tested the first video of Auto-Bild and it worked. If you are looking for series and movies and can be a lot like geo blocking or web-site changed.
ciao
The first 2 packages are already installed but at differing versions, the bad-fragmented package isn't there but as above I tried media portal and it worked for me.

Hi,
the different version are responsible for the errors when trying to install it. MP still assumes gstreamer 0.1 must be there but almost all images are now using gstreamer 1.x. To be sure install also bad-fragmented in version 1.x.

The attached version is for images with GST >0.1 (such as ViX): 47535

Thanks Rob - that worked a treat - now got 4.0 Vix with build 003 and the popular blue skin (as usual just a quick re-download) and my plugins all online. Looks good so far.

Can 7.4.3 be updated on-line?
Can 7.4.3 be updated on-line?
Hi Rob - strange results in response to your question. When I was back on OE 3.2 I had a pending upgrade from 7.4.4 to 7.4.5 which I'd done OK but expected to repeat after a failback from 4.0 to 3.2 - which I've done twice now.
Then addressing 4.0 upgrade:
I tried your 7.4.3 ipk file BEFORE flashing 4.0 image. It worked ok but prompted for an online upgrade - I did not check if it was 7.4.4 or .5
Feeling confident I had a good ipk from you with no -force-depends type Linux Bash command lines to enter, I went for 4.00 003 build image with a restore - it worked OK (as usual had to bring in You-Vix and reload Cross EPG files) but when I went to MP - it was already 7.4.5 - NO pending upgrade. Will keep an eye out for 7.4.6 So different results from last week but a much smoother upgrade this time. Thanks Rob & rest of team
Hi Rob,
only I think <7.2.3 could not be updated because there was a server change. 7.4.3 -> 7.4.5 should be no problem.

I was just curious if any update would be possible at all for this GST>0.1 version (as I can't test anything myself atm).
Hi,
at least once in the last weeks I installed the gst1 version and could easily update. Server change was last year.
ciao
cheers i renamed & it installed it in my solo2 & updated perfect thanks again.

Hi guys I'm running the latest openvix firmware from zgemma.co.uk web. And when I go to my addons to watch a movie on tsmedia it says. Error addon error no returned data check details with info button and when I press info it restarts my box. Saying software problem encountered and needs to be restarted. And says again please upload the crash log /media/hdd/logs/enigma2_crash_2016-07-09_13-55-19.log to the openvix forum. Help will be very much appreciated

There is no OpenViX for Zgemma; best is to consult the supplier of that self-made firmware. And especially point him to the fact that his firmware should not advise you yo consult us, but him, and that he should have the decency to state that his firmware may be 'based on ViX', but certainly isn't ViX....
See http://www.openvix.co.uk/ for all available OpenViX images.
latest MP needs installing dependencies first and uninstalling of old MP, ftp files to your tmp folder and manualy install from vix menu
Thanks @ to Dev.

Many thanks thijs - Worked a treat.
Install in this order and you shouldn't get any errors:
1.python-requests_2.9.1-r0_all.ipk
2.python-js2py_0.39-r0_all.ipk
3.python-cfscrape_1.6.6-r0_all.ipk
4.enigma2-plugin-extensions-mediaportal_7.5.8_all.ipk
Hope it helps...
Hi there.
Has anyone a sulotion for mediaportal 9.x.x ? From this version the gz (grauzone) is not content
of the plugin anymore ... perhaps the mpgz plugin could be part of the vix feed?
cu no.trace
Hallo there ...
The MPGZ PlugIn can be found here: http://feed.newnigma2.to/mpgz/
CU No.Trace
I'm on Openvix 5.1 .008 and cannot for the life of me get mediaportal to install. Before I used to just upload the ipk to the tmp folder and then go to setup, vix and install local extension, but it is not working for me. I'm using the ipk from the link no.trace gave and I also have an 9.1.02 ipk from another source, neither work! Please help
Hallo
is there no mediaportal on the feed?
CU Kai
thank you I have just installed it , I remember it being in the feeds a long time ago but I thought it had been removed.
Yes it was away sometimes, but i think i is bsck in there.
You only have to install the mpgz plugin for the missing part of streams ;)
