thanks for that, sorry to be a pain whats the minimum height it would need to be, i am thinking of attaching it to the garage on a pole so it will be about 15 foot high but we have nothing at the back of us blocking it. The dear other half doesnt want another dish on the back of the house :-)

it can be as high or low as you like providing it has a clear line of sight. my main dish is mounted just above my back door.

you going motorised or fixed dish mate?

go here and see what sats your going be able to see from your location:

if using a pole id recommend using T&K Brackets, its good to use these now incase your planning to go motorised in future. avoid the L shaped mounts, supposed to be awful.

as for dish, go for a decent one, like Triax TD88, Penta Fracarro 85 or Gibertini, all well made and combined with a Inverto Black Ultra LNB, should be sweet!

the Penta Fracarro 85 is said to have a surface area of a 1m dish:

of course there are al-cheapo dishes on auction site but id stick to the good quality ones
