Hi all,

Purchased the ET 10000 from WoS a few weeks ago and I'm very pleased so far. The only issue I am having is that any recorded program appears to stop playing after a certain period of time. So far I have noticed that it has stopped on FTA program after approx 1 min 50 sec playback and on another program it stops after 5 mins.

Tuner A = DVB-T2
Tuner B = DVB-S2
Tuner C = DVB-S2

VIX 3.2 build 036 with VIX Night HD skin

System temp 42 degrees

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I contact WoS.

Thanks

.... But apart from that no crashes etc? and the ET10000 is responsive to commands?
What are you recording on? If an internal disk who installed it?

Thanks for the reply...

The box is totally responsive to commands. There are 2 crash logs and I believe that one was when I scanned for bouquets.

I installed a 2.5" 320 gig hdd which has been mounted and initialised.

I can add the crash logs if necessary.

Just had a crash whilst using Auto Bouquet Maker... crashed on bouquet generation. I can upload this current log if need be.

Thanks.

So in log setting turn on debug logs, clear the logs there and then run a test recording and playback.... Check if any new logs and if so post crash log plus debug log

Recorded BBC2 HD, played back recording and after 2:11 playback froze. No crash logs or debug logs at all.

There is always a debug log, you just have to push the red button to display the debug log :)
Also when you press the list button on teh remote, what does it display for teh recording?

Still no crash or debug logs.

How long is the recording?

Start watching the recording and press OK and the playback progress bar should be displayed. This bar should show the length of the recording and possibly a couple of markers showing the pre/post padding. The reported length may give a clue to the problem being with recording in the first place or a payback issue

Hi adm,

I have had this issue on various recording lengths from several mins to 90 mins recordings. Can't fathom what's wrong. Just trying BBC2 HD again.

Still no crash or debug logs.

But did you go to the log mgr and press the red button to display the debug log?

I did twol .... nothing!

Last recording stopped at 4 seconds.

Checked the file on the internal hdd and it is saved as a .ts file, does this sound correct?

Auto.... But if you have enabled debug logs then you must have a log .... Thats what it does:) ... Showing everything from power up ...... But you probably need a restart to enable it :). Didn,t think of that :) I always have it enabled.

The system has been restarted several times and still no debug log. Only had a debug log when I had a crash.

well you could be right ... On my 3.2 system I don,t get debug logs but on my 3.3 buiild I have debug logs every time which is what I expect ... weird.
There should be debug logs.

Sorry I should have said I had a debug log and a crash log. I have managed to force a debug log and will post it on edit of this post. 2 ticks.

Crashes cause crash logs, not debug logs.

Did you reboot your receiver? (not just a GUI Restart)

Can you post a screenshot of yout log settings page?

Do not post/paste the log, attach it please.

Sorry for the confusion. I understand the difference between the logs, I just wasn't too clear on that...

I did carry out a full reboot not a GUI reboot.

I have attached a log and screenshots in in my previous post. http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?50440-ET10K-recording-playback-stops-or-freezes&p=392486&viewfull=1#post392486

Thanks for your patience.

As an aside, you should use CCcam 2.30 if using multi-tuner receivers. Ever since the heartbleed issue and SSL changes, this has been the case.

I did read about that. Consider it installed.

Have you timeshift running?

Mini-Me
20-02-16, 18:04
Yes timeshift is running after 20 seconds.

twol

Yes timeshift is running after 20 seconds.

Can you try without timeshift ... Don,t see that as an issue, but there are a hell of a lot of timeshift msgs in the log ... at least you can then rule that out as a potential conflict:)

Mini-Me

Tried with timeshift disabled. No different. I may swap out the hard drive and try a different one. Last resort I suppose.

Hi all,

Just swapped out the hdd and installed a 300gb wd blue 2.5" hdd to test. I recorded a 30min program and found that it played back OK. Looks as though the old hdd is fubar'd, possible bad sectors or a failing component.

I'm currently scanning channels and bouquets and will try one more recording soon. I hope it is just a faulty hdd.

Thanks for all the assistance so far.

@nsw9154, I'll check my settings against yours once the scan is sorted.

Cheers

Embarrassing I know but at least I still love my ET10000.

Thanks for all the assistance... I'm sure I will be back.

You should not be embarrassed. You did very well and got to issue. Sometimes it is a process of elimination.
