Hi,

Can someone please help and let me know how i can get access of recordings from my main receiver in the living room to show on another receiver in another room? Do these two receivers have to be the same make? I have a TM Twin in the living room (which i cannot upgrade due to RF needed) and looking to purchase another receiver in another room but don't know what single tuner receiver is good to purchase. (help needed if possible)

Thanks

Have a look at section 8.2 of the Vix manual. Receivers do not have to be the same make. The miraclebox micro, edision mini, vu zero TM nano mk 2 are fine.

However, at some stage you will have to update the Twin. I would buy a newer receiver and RF modulator and use the Twin as the second receiver.

You need to install samba from the feeds on the second receiver to access the recordings, it works a treat.

I install NFS on any of the boxes that I want to watch recordings from / on then goto Network - Network Browser > and you will see the mount there....

THanks,

EDIT - Doesnt really make sense that Above --- apologies... --- Anyways, install NFS on the boxes that you want to watch the recordign from and the box you want to watch the recording on. Goto Network Browser on the box you want to watch the recordings on and the go through as above, you will see the main box with recordings on, select it to mount. then it should mount. No problems... I could do it, so it must be easy..... FP.

Thanks for your advice.

Also which box you recommended? I would like to transfer my 2tb 3.5" hard drive from my twin to my main receiver.

The ET8000 supports a 3.5" drive.

Although you have not mentioned it, is a Terrestrail tuner any good to you? If so, may be more economical to buy at the outset

Is that a cable tuner? I need a twin sat tuner and the option for a cable tuner is ok if I ever move onto cable. (Don't know how easy it is or not and what is needed) what else u recommend don't really like the look of the receiver lol.
