As the title, thought I'd put a quick guide together on how to multiboot with Meoboot and USB stick.

1. Format your USB stick FAT32 with HP Tool here http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?45-USB-Format-Tool

2. Install Meoboot from plugin panel if using VTI or use plugin here http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?331-Latest-MeoBoot-for-Vu-Duo

3. Goto plugins and select Meoboot you will see this: -

http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=293

4. Press green button for devices and press red button to format

http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=294

5. Once done you need to re-start Meoboot via plugin and you will see this: -

http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=295

6. Press red button to install Meoboot

7. Reboot receiver if its not re-booted automatically.

8. Start Meoboot via plugins, you should see this: -

http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=296

9. FTP what ever other image you wish to multiboot to /media/usb/MbootUpload/ This must be a NFI image. NOT USB image.

10. Press red button to install image

http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/attachment.php?attachmentid=297

11. Meoboot will then install the new image onto your USB stick. This takes a few mins and the VU+ will freeze. Once done the VU+ will automatically re-boot into your new image.

12. To boot back into the flash image, start Meoboot via plugins, select flash and press green button to boot image: -

Hi m8

I have been playing with meoboot on the vti image done as your instructions then loaded image (hdfreaks) via ftp to media/meoboot/??? then gone into the box and started meoboot to load the image... now this is where the problems start it does what u say in freezing the screen but then after a while it reboots with vti image, now when i asked it to load the image i agreed to use my setting but when this image loads i have no network connection is this down to a glitch in the image or lack of memory or do i need to chmod the file loaded via ftp before asking meoboot to install.
Note... to regain a working vti image with network i have to select boot with flash to recover the box back to working condition

Hi m8s

UPDATE

I did the install to file media/usb/mbootupload as before the screen froze and after a short time the box rebooted but again with VTi image i then checked meoboot to see if the uploaded image was there still but instead it gave me the message no linux formatted devices found.

Just for note i also looked at the help file on meoboot and can confirm the path was what I was using
media/meoboot/mbootupload

Im using a sandisk 4gig stick cud this be a problem as i know dreamboxes had issues with usb sticks in the past

Hi mate see my error, didnt reboot after stage 6 so now all is good with adding images via usb stick, but u know me by now heres another glitch maybe someone can shed light on.
On usb stick with meoboot i loaded Gigant image all loaded well and i configed adding CCcam and keys so i can see my share... however i went back into plugins/meoboot to check the amount of space on the stick when i did this i got a message saying meoboot was being updated without me agreeing then said it was ready after which i got a green screen of death the vu+ rebooted when i checked plugins again meoboot wasnt on the list and when looking to download it wasnt in the download list either leaving me with no way to change back to flash unless I pulled the stick from the back. Has anyone else experienced this problem with Gigant image its a pity because its not a bad image apart from bugs with skins as this also crashed the vu+ the first time.

Seen the same bug m8, some image just need to be in the flash and wont multiboot correctly. I had VTI 1.0 in flash installed Dream Elite 1.3.2 in multiboot, it would not work correctly. Remember multi-boot isn't completely bug free. I even found that Dream Elite wouldn't read my bouquets when it was in multi-boot.

Hi mate

Thank god it wasnt just me then with the gigant image... quite like the hd freak image but changed the skin because i didnt like the blank overlay that scrolls down the menu ..very annoying. I could be wrong but i thought i read that Dream elite image worked best as flash image not on usb stick one reason why i didnt put it on mine.

Sorted this out ,i had tried meoboot on the hdd last week so it defaulted to the image on the hdd first and not the usb,i deleted the directories on the hdd and now its booting from the usb stick.
