sorry lads geriatric newbie here, i bought an et8000 about a week/10 days ago and when starting the procedure we noticed it was trying to update some 180 plus updates, it completed this task but then showed it still required 6 updates we tried several times to get it to do this but to no avail, we contacted wos by landline and was advised to reflash using new version of flash, the version relating to my box came out in january this year so where do i findther new flash as we went through a complete reflash using this latest version and we are back at the same place 6 down loads needed talk about ground hog day regards to all

From time to time, you cannot perform an update. You must flash/install the image instead.

What you should do now.....

1. Make a settings backup
2. Reinstall/flash 036 image
3. Restore the settings and plugins

Video guides here if you need them

When using the blue button method and after you had restored the download, what did you do when the set up wizard asked do you want to restore settings ? Do you want to restore plugins ?

Clicked no. The settings that were on it were the exact same as it is now. So that wudnt make any difference.

Updates, images available and image backups are different things.

To find out the image you are on:
Menu >Information >About

Images shown in Image Manager:
Image manager will list the existing images you have in the image backup folder of the HDD. Any images you backup will be created in that directory. If you want to download an image, you must press the yellow button to download it. Onec it is downlaoded you can flash/restore it.

Updates:
Run the command above to show what updates are available.
