Hi,

I’m looking in to the below high end boxes (£300 - £400 range) with 4 tuners (2 x DVB-C and 2 x DVB-S/S2) and would like some assistance in choosing one.

1. VU+ Duo 2 (1x Twin Tuner Hybrid DVB-C/T/T2 Tuner) Enigma2 Linux Cable / Terrestrial Receiver Full HD 1080p PVR READY
Extras:
• Advanced Dual / Twin DVB-S/S2 Satellite Tuner
• 1TB Internal HDD

2. Xtrend ET10000 2x DVB-S2 + 2x DVB-C/T/T2 COMBO Linux Enigma 2 Linux HD Digital Receiver PVR Ready
Extras:
• USB Wifi N adapter
• 1TB Internal HDD

3. GiGaBlue HD QUAD+ PLUS Linux Enigma 2 HD PVR Satellite Receiver 2x DVB-S/S2 + 2x Plug & Play Tuner Slots
Extras:
• 2x Hybrid DVB-C/T/T2
• USB Wifi N adapter
• 1TB Internal HDD

I would like to know:

1. What people recommend?
2. Support the most images?
3. Good with weak signal and don’t have a weak tuner.
4. What has the most support from the community?
5. What has the most support from the manufacture.
6. Which support mobile viewing (On the internal network and external)?
7. Does anyone recommend any other boxes that I may have overlooked?
8. Are any new boxes coming out that you think I should wait for?
9. Do these boxes need splitters for the tuners or is it handled internally?

The best one out of the three is the Duo2 IMHO. Good image support and does everything u want.

The Xtrend is a good box as well

I would actually put the 3 boxes in that order when buying them.

Clarify point 3) ..... Where do you live? If in UK not an issue, otherwise depends on how marginal and for what satellites....:)

Well the solo4k is the best available, you don't need a 4k TV.

i have all 3 but i would put the Xtrend ET10k first, but the Duo2 is a great work horse it is very well built and it dose every thing i want from it, i have 3TB Toshiba 3.5" 5,500rpm Hard Drives fitted in both of them and they work fine, the Quad plus is a good receiver as well but not in the same league as the Xtrend or Duo2 and it only takes 2.5" drives

Does that support 2 X sat and 2 c cable tuners?

To fully utilise the Satellite side for the Vu+ Solo 4K, recommend you get a Unicable LNB. But yeah you can have a twin Hybrid cable tuner installed.

what are the benefits with unicable on 4k?

Hi,
with Unicable and 8 SCR-frequencies it behaves like a box with 8 tuner so at least 7 recordings while watching is possible:-)
