I have serial number and BN number and bar codes on the box it came in.

Flash the latest vix image from openvix.co.uk, if it doesn't boot after new flash it is a clone.

Purchase from a genuine dealer. you'll also receive genuine VU booklets/guarantees and the like. Simples. (Pay less, expect less)

Fast clone recognition:

1. Sticker on top of box inviting you not to flash other images, only from ********.tv
2. Rear sticker with something like V2,V3...
3. Vertically mounted circuit board on your box motherboard close to CI slot.
