Please discard version 2.7. Here's a new version 2.8 with improved detection of the USB stick in which USB-port the stick is placed

This version has been a change made with respect to the (almost) not used NFI image.

In previous versions, the NFI-image are automatically created when there was chosen for the backup to HDD to install the plugin options:
Vu + Backup to HDD / USB - Backup 1:1 NFI and USB format

Since this version, 3.1 so, you have the choice to NFI image not dealing with this plugin, there is no choice within 20 seconds in the options menu then the NFI-image is not created.

Is chosen to be an NFI image to make than this, as in version 3.0, in the same folder as the USB version.

On the USB-only version of this plugin is nothing changed except the version number then.

The plugin is not perfect because there is a menu in confirmation to be made, as it was, who I now misused to NFI choice.

Everything I have tested several times but were still crazy things in it I hear it.

backupsuite for ET-5000, ET-9000 and VU+ Duo

Here is a new version off the BackupSuite 3.6.

As of now the BackupSuite is suitable for the Clarke Tech/Xtrend models ET-5000, ET-9000 and the VU+ Duo.

There is an English version and a Dutch version of the plugin. The Dutch version is posted in the Dutch section of this forum.

Requirements for the USB-version, there has to be a file present on the USB-stick with one of the following names:
backupstick or
backupstick.txt or
vubackupstick or
vubackupstick.txt
This has been done to be backwards compatible with the former VU+ Backupsuite.

The following screenshots are taken with the HDD plugin in use, at the same moment there was a valid USB-stick in the USB-port present so automatically there was also made a copy on the stick.

This version has also a check to see if there is a writable HDD present. Further some minor adjustments.

To use this plugin you'll have to first remove the older original VuPlus Backupsuite (if present)

Please ignore the version-number on the screenshots, the shots were taken during development. I upgraded the version-number to 3.6 to follow up the old version

VuPlus BackupSuite Version 4.2

Now is the BackupSuite arrived at version 4.2

In terms of operation no changes in the code EEE and there is that cosmetic work.

There is inter alia removed a bug which, in extreme circumstances, an error could occur.
If on a hard drive, the backups were run 3 boxes including 2 of the model VU + were a duo and uno, it was not good management.

Luckily VU + EN such extreme cases and is therefore the evil came to light. Thanks to VU + EN for the (infinite) test.

VuPlus BackupSuite Version 4.4

With the HDD version of this plugin there is a possibility to write the back-up also to an USB-flash drive if a valid drive is placed in one of the USB-ports while making the back-up to HDD.
In case of a VU+ model everything went well but if used with an ET-5000 or ET-9000 things went wrong, the back-up was copied to a wrong folder on the USB-flash drive. With this release this bug is fixed.

The 4.4 version is online after the next nightly build, so if everything works right tomorrow morning.

BTW it isn't any more the VuPLus BackupSUite but just plain BackupSuite because since sometime ago the BackupSuite also supports the Clarke Tech or Xtrend models ET5000, ET9000 and upcoming models.
For the VU+ there is support for the Duo and Uno (tested), the Solo should also work fine (if the image is based on OpenPLi)

For an USB-flash drive to work it have to has a file with the name backupstick or backupstict.txt on the USB-flash drive.

With this posting the English version. The Dutch version is online tomorrow.

While this is a handy plugin it is worth noting that it is not needed in the ViX image as we already have a very powerful and regularly updated set of image and backup managers in the image by default, which are tailored specifically for the ViX image.
