View Full Version : [ViX_Misc] ***Please read*** Advance warning, GST upgrade coming soon.
All OpenViX users please note that we are testing GST 1.7.1, currently we use 1.6.1, there's a number of bug fixes in 1.7.1 that should improve media playback and live streams. When we move to this newer GST users will be advised to re-flash and restore settings at some point. Once implemented we will advice which build.
EDIT:30/01/2016.
A lot of users have missed this thread so promoted to a force read.
OpenViX Build 3.2.036 has new GST 1.7.1, a minimum of flash and restore of backup settings is required.

Basically it is a library that handles media , videos etc saying that I could be wrong :smash:
GST also means Goods service tax so u could be taxed when you flash the new image:roflmao:

When ever we are told to fresh flash, I always set up as new any way just to be safe.

I agree. Should not to be difficult to save channel settings for exaple with dreamboxedit. And then having maybe oscam configfiles returned if you stored those to your computer.
Is there an ETA for this next release?
Still no support for Gigablue IPBox in the new image? This is the only box from Gigablue that is not supported by OpenVIX.

So am I goosed? No. If you did an update the image will have created a backup. Just download and flash latest image in Image Manager and then load your backup when prompted in first install wizard.

You can either flash by USB or flash using Image Manager. It does not matter.

Ok so I upgraded to the latest 3.2 036 and use the ruya plugin, on 036 when trying to watch live tv in hd the stream just constantly freezes, it was fine on 035 so have reverted back to that and the problem has gone, streams fine again, is there maybe an issue with 036 when streaming that hasn't been mentioned yet?
this is probably due to the new gstreamer version.
That's what I thought, reading about this I was under the impression that it was meant to improve live streaming? If anything it's broke it for me with hd streams, going back to 035 with gstreamer 1.6.1 has fixed it and it's working as it should.
