Hi all,

A slight problem with my new zero box running the latest openvix.

When I attach it via ethernet cable the lan, it will gradually kill all network traffic and eventually knock the router out of commission. (Bt home hub 5, flashing red light)

As soon as the box is unplugged, everything on the network will work fine again.

Tried setting it up as dhcp and static, both of which are fine for a bit, but then the wifi connections from the router drop and then the router will die.

Any ideas? Apart from keeping it offline :)

Thanks for any help!

sounds like your your box and another device are getting the same IP address, have you tryed setting a static IP address on your ZERO ?

Yeah, I have tried out setting it as a static ip as well.

I've just had a look and the routers dhcp range is 192.168.1.64-253, and it was either set to .69 or .123 so i'll try setting it to a lower value out of that range and see if it makes a difference.

Cheers

Have you installed an mg_cfg file ?

Hi.

Yes I have an mg_cfg file on the box.

You're ddosing your network, probably with a bad network config. Usually mgcamnd.

I thought it might be something like that.

I'll have a peek around the config file and see if anything looks wrong.

Thanks for the help.

Check line L it should read

L: { 00 }

if not change it to the above.

Yep, that seems to have done the trick. Had the box connected all night and no router killing.

Thanks!
