Hi

I would like some help relating to Auto Timers. I have set several of these up and they are recording the programmes that I want. What I have noticed is that it is recording multiple programmes on the same day.

So, if I set up to record say Hollyoaks on E4 via Autotimer and have this to record Mon-Fri from 18:57-19:35, the programme will record which is great.

But if Hollyoaks is also on at say 06:00 and 13:00 the same day (repeats from the previous night), it will also record them as well, even through I have set it up to just record from 18:57-19:35????

I had a programme to record on Sunday from 20:57-22.05 on E! but it recorded 10 episodes before this as they were having a marathon of that show the whole day!!!

Is there a setting that I have missed?

You can press blue/auto timer when in EPG and only record that time, channel ect so it just records what you want, I however just lost all my auto timers just wiped everything and i don't know why so have to start again 😭

There's a setting inside the set auto time like hollyoaks when set there a tick box that states something like unique info something. If you tick this it will only record 1 if it has the same info it won't record even if it is on at that time.

I've just read this back to myself and even I can't understand it hahah. Il find the right name and how to get at it soon as

Menu-timers- auto timers- press menu-settings. Scrol down a few the setting states require description to be unique. Hope this helps

But the OP has stated:

even through I have set it up to just record from 18:57-19:35????
and he's wondering why he gets recording outside of this time span. Nothing to do with unique descriptions - at least as described.

Thats right birdman, as I specified the times, I would have thought that it will only record between these times????

Thats right birdman, as I specified the times, I would have thought that it will only record between these times????It should.
However, if you originaly set the Autotimer with no time-span on it then it will have set lots of them to start with. Adding a restrictive time-span later won't unset the timers that have already been set - it will just control how new ones are set as they arrive in the EPG data.
So, could that be what happened? I can't think of anything else that would cause it.
