What do you mean by "wont go past the boot screen"?
As you can ftp in, are there any crashlogs in /home/root/logs/ ?

If you have a serial cable, maybe rs232 logs of the boot process could help identify issue?

In Putty, make sure com port matches the one on your PC. Change baud rate/speed to 115200.

Boot up and you should see the log and it could tell you what the problem is.

Why wont it work from usb?

Have you tried and re-tried??

Make sure there are no other USB sticks in, make sure the USB stick is formatted correctly and is bootable. Then follow the instructions.

Hard to tell from those pics, but your install is corrupt with required files missing.
Is the flash completely full?

Easiest solution is going to be reflashing, using a correctly formatted USB stick with image extracted properly on it.

It won't flash via usb I've tried several sticks and different images

Have you tried rear usb ports as well as the front one? No other usb inserted while trying to fresh flash? What makes of usb sticks are you using and sizes?

You appear to have a hardisk .... Try disconnecting it ..... One of the screens seems to,indicate an issue if I am reading it correctly.

Is it a genuine receiver? Any noticeable stickers on the back that say v1.0, v2.0 or v3.0?

Now there are other people on here who will be able to explain in more detail, but if you upload via FTP a backup or image you can install it via FTP - not sure of the commands....??

Thanks,
FP.

I had this same problem with a solo2 with USB sticks I've used before for images I found I needed to download a fresh image from openvix website and used a freshly formatted 8gb Kingston USB

Yes it's genuine I wouldn't know what to do with a clone

Well you would do with it what you would do with a genuine box till it fudged up...
The fact you are having trouble flashing vix, but you have been able to flash a smaller pli image would prompt me to think you have internal memory problems.

Thanks Da any advise on how to clear the internal memory?
