Hello, I noticed that since some weeks no update is apparently available for my decoder but in the update list from my version .30 I see that last version is .33
http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/downloads/gigablue-images/gigablue-quad/
It does it mean that upgrading from .30 to .33 has to be done from usb this time? Sorry if I miss some communication but I didn't find anything about recent updates.
Thank you

Well. If it's necessary to upgrade from usb this time is not an issue. Just to know it. Thanks

No need to use USB do it straight from the box via software update

But software update says that there is no update.....this is the problem.

Oh ok perhaps the mods can answer you not sure why it is not showing . Are you familiar with using Image Manager that is another way of doing it. There are plenty of threads on here about updating with this method .

Menu>Setup> Vix>Image Manager>press yellow button , the latest image should be the top one ,press green to download

One way to diagnose the issue of why updates are not showing is to issue following command:

opkg update && opkg list upgradable

If there are any errors, you should be informed

No error in my opinion. This is what I got:

I run

init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade -force-overwrite && reboot

After the sequence I have checked but remain build 030.

Yes, as usual I does. Thanks:thumbsup::thumbsup:!

...I did it as usual but this time it's restoring only the channel settings except plugins and the skin. When I did it in the past, from the VIX menu, I remember that restoring settings should restore the whole previous configuration!
I did it when I was prompted and I tried again from VIX menu with no success.

Hello' Abu Baniaz,
I see why it does not backup/restore the plugins, because I remember that I have added by myself time ago and now I should recreate the same.
I see that you have created a nice FAQ for the back up and restore procedure here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?47588-Flashing-Settings-backup-and-Restores
Could you kindly confirm if the files and folders I should include are ok based on your experience? Perhaps it can be useful to add this info in the FAQ...

Folders
/usr/lib/enigma2/
/etc/tuxbox/config/
/usr/crossepg/
/usr/softcams/

Files:
etc/fstab
etc/passwd

Anything to remove or add based on your experience? Thanks
