View Full Version : Picture cutting off at edge
Been up all night trying to figure this out ... i am using the fantasic VIX image, but my picture is cutting off at the left and right side by a few CM. any way of fixing this?
thanks, would be so greatful for any replies :)
stating the obviouse but have you looked at the AV settings?
Also by picture do you mean actual picture or the vix menu of its the vix menu than in the vix men there is a setting for overscan - have a play with it and see what suits your telly.
What TV is it, what have you tried so far ?
what settings do you have on the TV and the VU+
Try the overscan settings in Menu>setup>vix>settings
sorry I should have explained better...
It is an LG TV running 1080 on HDMI ... however it is not the TV as I had the same problem with my DM800, for example on BBC HD you can tell you are loosing picture becuase the first B in the logo is chopped off ... same with the menus in VIX
If you have the same problems with 2 totally different receivers I would say it IS the TV - what model is it ?
but when i go to 4:3 mode, it still excludes the missing part of the picture?
actually I think your right mate, when I go into PC HDMI mode it is including the missing parts... so I need to changed the setting somehow?
I use a LG tv set to Just Scan, is the model of your Tv a closely guarded secret ? :D
Haha, no I just dont know what model it is, it doesnt say on the front unfortuantly, its 5 or 6 years old tho, just had a look in the menu and I can move the picture but not scale it :(
my settings on the vu are in av settings: Mode 1080i, refresh rate 50hz, 4:3 just scale, 16:9 letterbox.
On TV its selected as 16:9
If you can move the pic around it suggests you are in some sort of zoom mode on the tv
Have a look at this thread http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?3858-cant-view-full-screen-with-vix-image
Thanks for your time mate :)
Just found the manual - the model is RZ-37LZ55 - anyone know where i can get the service menu password? thanks
Before you get into that try setting your VU to 720p or 1080i @ 60Hz as looking at the service manual your TV does not appear to support resolutions above 576 @ 50Hz. unless its the Australian model
PM me your email address and I will send you the service manual
still the same issue :( from what ive read today, their is an overscan issue that has to be resolved in the engineers menu, but you need a 4 digit passcode to get in
