View Full Version : DM500S and WLAN instead of Hardwired interconnection?

Hi.... I have a Standard DM500S presently using an up-to-date Open PLI image. It would be very (!!) helpful in my own particular situation to be able to communicate with the DM500S via a WLAN link rather than a hard wired one.
What and where is available for establishing a WLAN link perhaps using the VONETS VAP11G WLAN Bridge (
www.vonets.com)?
The VONETS WIFI (WLAN) bridge I have doesn't work straight up on the DM500S and, perhaps it needs a WLAN driver contained in the DM500S firmware image? Even after using the software configuration supplied with the VAP11G WLAN Bridge, it just cannot find the presence of the VAP11G WLAN Bridge when the IP address is statically (manually, by myself) defined or by the DNS routines in the software.
Again, does it need a WLAN driver contained in the DM500S firmware image?
Kind regards and a Happy New Year to all.
Robert, ZL2ROB.

These are more or less the same as the Vonets VAP11G but cheaper http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Networking-WiFi/Openmedia-WiFi-Bridge
