My main ET8000 that is cabled into my router is constantly using the Internet connection and causing connectivity issues for my main computer that is also cabled into the router and all of the wireless users. What could it be doing that would use up the Internet connection?

Probably open ports on your router allowing anyone access to your ET8000, (and everything else on your network).

Or a badly configured cam.

It's likely to be badly configured cam like Judge said.

Is mgcamd being used?

Sounds like badly configured MGcamd.

Assuming you're using mgcamd, then using a linux compatible editor you need to find your mg_cfg file in "/var/keys" and search for something beginning "L:" and replace that line with "L: { 00 }" (without speech marks obviously :))
