In the new CI(+) module from CDS/TVV/Telesat seems the + possibilities not being activated
The module even works in an old VU-duo, which is certainly not CI+ compatible.
Also the module seems to be able to decode (from the same transponder) more than one channel.
It seems that this module behaves itself as a normal CI module.

In a certain way is this good news. If we are forced to use module in the future, it will be less painfull

There is of course a minus. Recording a channel while watching another channel from a different transponder is not possible. Also recording simultaneous channels from a different transponder is not possible.

No image exist which supports such a possiblity while using a CI module
It would be advantegeous if a solution to this is manufactured. I can see two (really 3) possible solutiuons:

1. Recording the channel in coded form. The decoding is to be performed later when the CI module is not busy.
Coded recordings are already possible now (on certain receivers). The decoding process is however not supported when you use a CI module.
The recorded TS file while have put in a pseudo-stream. This stream routed through the CI module, where the module can decode the stream. The output from the mCI module can then be rerecorded and saved on the HDD or being show on the screen.

2. One can also extract the chosen channels from the different streams from different transponders. Combine these the streams from these channels in a pseudo stream, and send this pseudo stream through the CI module. The CI module can now do its work on these channels.
This method would also solve the problem while using PIP.

I understand that enigma2 would require a rewrite. Even a rewrite of the drivers might be needed.
However working on these methods, might save the future of our linux receivers.

There is a third option. Make the new smartcard work in Oscam. But this is a discussion for a different forum altogether.
