Graphical epg randomly keeps crashing

The graphical epg keeps crashing randomly . It's not doing the crash every time, but when it starts to do it, it's doing it on the same channel.

When the cursor hits the problem channel, the cursor will not move out of the channel and the crash is 100%, up or down, doesn't matter. It seems that mostly the problem is with the channels that are not broadcasting anything but the next morning. So there is still some of the broadcasted programme name left on the left side, but otherwise the "bar" for that channels is empty.

I can fix the problem by emptying the epg, but it seems to come back randomly after a couple of days.

Just to follow-up:

The crash occurs every time the cursor hits the mtv sport 2 hd or hero.
As you can see, the regular broadcast has ended so there in no epg data.

If I delete the epg.dat data and refresh the epg, there is no crash and the epg bar for the mtv sport 2 hd and hero are both completely empty for the current time.
