Hi Guys

Brother bought 2 of vu+ duo2 from WOS, He was wondering if its possible to set the first box up the way he wants, with cam's, plugins, skins etc, make an image backup of that and then take that backup image from the box, put it on a USB stick and flash the second box.

Will that work?

Will the second box be exactly the same as the first box doing it this way?

Would there be any conflict as the two boxes will now have the same local IP?

Or does the box automatically find a new local (and available) IP address once it's connected to the router?

Hope that makes sense
Thanks :)

IP depends on your settings. If you have DHCP then they will receive a differant ipo address. If you have Fixed you will need to set one box on another ip.For the rest the boxes will be exactly the same.

You should also change the hostname.

You should also change the hostname.

Just curious how do you do that? and why is that important?
Thanks

edit /etc/hostname

If you browse your network, you will see the hostnames of your devices. If more than one device apears with same name, you will not know which of them.
