Is there such a thing?

I'm looking for something that can catalogue the media on my NAS and present it on my Xtrend with covers, description etc. Can see that something exists for some of the Vu boxes so am wondering if there's something the same or similar for Xtrend.

Have you tried Dreamplex? You would need to setup a plex server. What Nas do you have? Sysnology and Qnap have Plex server app.

I set up a plex server on my NAS and after 2 weeks deleted it, compared to the universal movie scraper in kodi, plex was like pulling teeth.

I have a Buffalo Terastation NAS which unfortunately doesn't support plex.

Do you have a PC running 24/7? If so setup Plex server on that, link to your nas.

I used to have a HP microserver but replaced it with the NAS but didn't do my homework properly on it I'm afraid. Was hoping that the et10000 would gave something beyond browsing folders and files.

One of my test boxes is a Wetek s2 box which I am running PBNigma Enigma 2 image. It has a stand alone kodi app installed as part of the image.

Can't we do something along the same lines?

can dreamplex be used or set up as a media library to play content from the local hdd on the same E2 box , without the need for network connection to nas or server !

No, you need a Plex server on another device.
