Hdmi is passthrough only though. Please bare that in mind.

I've not looked at any amp specs in a while, does that mean theres not HDMI upscaling and the it wont process audio from a HDMI source?

as far as i am aware, it means the hdmi cant process the sound or video so it just passes through

you still need to use optical/coax digital cable for the audio.

so treat this amp like a normal 5.1/DTS amp with the convenience of 2 hdmi outputs for the picture.

if you dont want HD audio and are replacing an old DTS amp then this would be ideal. otherwise its not worth buying.

i read the manual and yes it needs seperate audio cables connected it wont do it via the hdmi lead and also it wont decode 3d tv

the 3d is putting me off from it
