Sorry i know this place is called "World of Satellite" but im sure this is simple to answer :D

Im gunna have a dabble with cable tv, so I will be getting a GiGaBlue Hybrid DVB-C DVB-T2 Tuner (http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/GiGaBlue-Hybrid-DVB-C-DVB-T-T2-Plug-and-Play-Tuner-Module).

Both cable and sat use F type screw female connectors to your box, yet on that tuner it seems to use standard coax female input.

Is it a case of just removing the F screw plug off the cable wire and putting a male coax plug on?

You would be better off getting an F-plug to TV adapter similar to below (other sources of supply are available :D)

You could put a tv plug on the cable coax, but they are generally poor quality and not ideal for high frequency work and can cause signal issues. The adapter method is more secure and doesn't involve stripping cable etc.

I mean am I right in thinking that the cable wire needs "converting" to a coax male in some way.. it does just plug into that tuner from the outside world doesn't it?

Seems odd how the tuner isn't a F type female already?

Yes you are right but also as FatTony says use an adaptor as poor do it your self plugs or poorly fitted plugs can cause noise feedback which affects certain frequencys.

Ps reason it isn't an f type female anyway is that it also does 'T'.
