Just like to say great forum with lots of helpful users here. Ive learnt lots about the ins and outs of my new VU+ DUO2 which is running OpenVix 3.2.20. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out over the last week or so. But now Im back with another problem and was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem before and maybe point me in the right direction to rectifying it.

Im using Autobouquetsmaker to generate my bouquets and Dreamboxedit to edit them on pc just the way I like. Doing this I can easily integrate terrestrial channels with satellite channels and swap around a small few satellite channels and the list is fine. Im very happy with the results except for that when I send the channel list back to the box from Dreamboxedit all the unused channel numbers now show up as greyed out <n/a>

e.g.
1-100 <n/a>
And anywhere else where theres gaps in the uk numbers Im getting <n/a> between channels.

Here are some examples of a section of the channel list

Graphical EPG looks like ths:
Fashion One
<n/a>
Showcase
<n/a>
ITV3HD
Forces TV
<n/a>
ShowBiz TV
<n/a>

Or if I just press the up button on the remote to bring up the list of channels it looks like this:
257 Fashion One
258 <n/a>
259 <n/a>
260 <n/a>
261 Showcase
262 <n/a>
263 ITV3 HD
264 Forces TV
265 <n/a>
266 ShowBiz TV
267 <n/a>

Can I stop the Duo2 from displaying these <n/a> entries in the list?

If I goto: Menu > Setup > System > EPG, I can set Skip empty services to "Yes"; the remote will skip over these <n/a> channels but they are still visible in the list.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks

Don't edit the bouquets ABM is generating. It will mess up the list, as you describe.
Also all your work will be gone, when you run ABM again.
ABM can also scan DVB-T.
You can use e.g. the custom mix files option to mix DVB-T and DVB-S channels.

Can I use custom mix and custom lcn together?
Custom mix to add Saorview and Sky Ireland channels to my main Sky UK list.
Custom LCN to rearrange my main Sky UK list

These are the changes I make with Dreamboxedit to my main Sky UK list :

101 RTE One (From Saorview)
102 RTE Two (From Saorview)
103 TV3 (From Saorview)
104 TG4 (From Saorview)
105 3e (From Soarview)

115 RTE One +1 (From Saorview)
116 UTV Ireland (From Saorview)
117 ITV London HD

135 Channel 4 HD

141 BBC One HD
142 BBC Two HD
143 4seven

171 Channel 5 (Originally at 105)

277 BBC One Lon (Originally at 101)
278 BBC Two Eng (Originally at 102)
279 ITV London (Originally at 103)
280 Channel 4 (Originally at 104)
281 BBC Three
282 BBC Four
283 London Live
284 BBC ALba

423 Setanta Ireland (From Sky Ireland)
424 Setanta Sports 1 (From Sky Ireland)
425 Setanta HD (Form Sky Ireland)

502 BBC NEWS HD
503 RTE News Now (From Saorview)
504 Bloomberg

569 BBC Parliament
570 BBC News

613 CBBC HD
614 CBeebies HD
624 RTE Junior (From Saorview)
637 CBBC
638 CBeebies

And when I complete these changes all the other Sky channels still have their original numbers.
e.g. 501 Sky news
601 Cartoon Network

Is it possible to achieve this with custom mix and custom LCN?
Or is there a way that I can still use Dreamboxedit and stop the VU+ from displaying the <n/a> channels?

Thanks

I use custom mixes it's a great thing to set up but isn't for everybody...
Or you can do a scan using ABM, and then do your edit in e-channeliser, this will hide the n/a.
So long as you don't scan ABM again they will stay intact.

Thanks. I'll try that. But I'd be interested to know if it could also be done with custom mixes and custom lcn.

If re-arranging and mixing, I prefer favourites.xml

Sent from my HTC One M9PLUS using Forum Fiend v1.3.3.

Had a play with e-channeliser. When the channel list goes back to the VU+ the <n/a> channels are not displayed. But I cant get it to work with the 101,102 numbering system. If I add a channel it gets a single digit number and cant change it to a 101, 102 type number. So the edited channel list does not correspond with the Sky UK numbering system. :(

If we could just figure out what Dreamboxedit is doing to the list before it sends it back thats causing the VU+ to display the <n/a> channels. Or come up with a method of using custom mix and custom lcn together to achieve my list.

Yes it is possible to use custom lcn and custom mix in theory but don't do it. Main purpose of custom lcn is to create static lists for provider that don't have LCN.

If you want to move channels around inside a provider use custom mix.
