Hello,
ABM was working yesterday, today flashed 2 different build 19/20 (4 times) and when i scan on ABM i get tuner time out.
I have 2 sat and on cable, sat is working and there is signal on the cable ( tried on tivo ).

Any idea what's causing the problem?

Sounds like the dish or LNB is not looking at the correct satellite you are trying to tune.

I am trying to scan for Virmin and is set to brighton 41044 , both on the tuner configuration and provider . Always done it like like that .

Just to clarify:

Tuner A: sat 30w
Tuner B: sat 30w
Tuner C: cable net id 41044 brighton

Network scan finds 0 channels
Manual Scan finds 0 channels

Sat works fine, when scanning on ABM i get "Timeout for tuner lock" after 10 sec.

This is likely going to be a signal/splitter/cabling issue. Otherwise wrong net ID.

The same cable works on tivo box and the net Id is correct one ( always used the same and shows on the tivo).

Are you removing the tivo box and using the receiver in the exact same place with the same wire?

Yes, same wire.
It was working yesterday but wouldn't work after a fresh install this morning.

We have not changed anything with regards to tuning. Any changes are tested.

If you are convinced it is a change, try an older image. It is a co-incidence that it is not working now. We had a chap changing images stating that ABM does not work on Vix. Later posted thanks for fixing it, when we had not done anything. It turned out to be a signal related.

Lraizer's Cable plugin works slightly differently, you may wish to give that a try.

Have you checked your net id in ABM, not tuner config but the ABM plugin itself?

Yes i did.

Another observation , signal finder shows no signal on tuner c.

Thanks for the reply.

I have no idea what happened.

Installed Lraizer's Cable plugin , created the folders but they are empty.
Changed splitter and cable , same result.

Ordered a new tuner from WOS to see.

i have a simerlar issue on my gigablue quad +

i had vix 30.15 for a while as i couldnt be bothered to upgrade. when 19 came out, i did the upgrade but got 'tune failed' on cable channels - did nothing else but reflashed with back up of 30.15, all works fine again. same 'tune failed' issue with the latest vix?
odd thing is, i have 2x sat tuners and 2x cable tuners - one being DVB-C/T2 (tuner c) and one being DVB-C/T (tuner d), if i load up the latest vix then look as the signal quality within vix i get nothing showing on tuner c but absolutly fine on tuner d, infact, if i disable tuner c in vix, the box uses tuner d and i get picture back.

i wonder if its a driver issue for the GIGA DVB-C/T2NIM (SI4768) tuner?
until sorted im sticking with vix 3.0.15

There were driver updates/cancellations about 10 days ago for the Gigablue units. There was mention about changes not being recorded. Maybe that is the cause?

Just to be sure, could someone with a GB check if fresh install of 20 behaves the same way? You can make a full backup image of working one and restore it later.

I flashed 19 and 20 , both with the same problem. ABM tuner time out.

@abu - I have a Quad+, but no cable TV - just sat and terrestrial (T1 not T2). No issues noted as regards ABM tuning sat and terr for me. However, I did see that series of driver updates, followed by reverts and also comments about old drivers being used but with new dates so I'm thoroughly confused as to whether the drivers are new or not:confused: There have been so many driver changes from Gigablue and not always for the better.

ABM is gone again for me, same build but won't scan again.

I have lost ABM when updated to 021.

It says no NIM found at the end of ABM scan.

I can't seem to find anything more recent with a search than November, so apologies if it's somewhere else... I've just updated my dads Quad Plus as I'm back in the UK for Christmas and get exactly the same. 3.2-030. Going to flash 020 now.

I should have read the whole thread first -.-. Back to 015 and it's fine other than Sky Thriller SD and HD are still not working. I don't know if that is ABM though.

Very interesting. I'm on hades 18 and abm works fine. Upgraded to latest image earlier this week and did a fresh install and got tuner lock failure message!
Back on hades 18 all is good

I'm getting tuner lock too. BT Sports 1 HD now gone as well.

If you think you have an issue with the latest version, switch on debug logging and extra debug option and do an ABM scan. Then start your own thread and post the log.

Just to answer my own problem in case anyone else comes across it:

The tuner lock error on specific channels was simply to do with a powered amplifier. Once I switched it back to a non-powered splitter, they work fine again.

The original problem in the thread still stands, ABM does not work on the Quad+ after 3.2-015.

Working fine here, currently using build 30.

@Judge, he is using Cable.
Instead of saying ABM does not work, maybe better to say that tuners not getting a lock on cable with newer drivers. Older drivers fine.
Attach debug logs.

Here is the debug log. Sorry for the delay I was travelling back home. Much harder for me to test now.

This is a start up, run ABM, stop the log.

Just wondering if anyone has had time to look at the logs yet? I checked the OE change log and there haven't been any more driver updates for the Quad+, so I assume it's still broken.
