Morning All,

I have installed a DVB-C tuner into a mutant HD2400, I pick up all channels but my SNR is at 56% and AGC is at 0%

Where am i going wrong to get a stronger signal?

Cheers

...... But do you have a solid picture......... Most of these receivers seem to show incorrect figures for cable tuners.
If the picture is good, I wouldn,t worry too much.:)

Yes it is a very good picture. Only reason I ask is my LX3 DVB-C tuner is showing 99% on both.

Mutant is at my father in laws and LX3 is at my house.

Don't worry about the SN it is normal with the Muta@nt i had the same concern as you when my LX3 SN was 99% and my Mut@nt was 52%
the Xtrend ET10000k is the same it only shows between 52/54% on the cable channels :)

I've tried many brands, still yet to find a correct reading.

I am getting picture break up now on some channels. I have 56-57% signal, Sky News HD is un watchable at the minute, I have tried swapping stuff around, just using one cable but nothing seems to help.

Is there a signal booster I can use?

Any advice appreciated.

curious if a reboot of box and router can help as it might clear any bugs you have.check feeds are good also.

What image are you on? cant see how this would affect signal.

Try an attenuator.

Would this work?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cable-TV-Attenuator-Variable-Eurovox-Virgin-Starview-/310087610907?hash=item4832a9721b:g:e9gAAOxyVVJSAsL 4

Setup now is: 1 feed coming in from outside, I have put a 500-1000mhz splitter from this one feed to split it for TV and broadband, From the 2nd output on the splitter is a cable running to a different splitter for the 2 cable tuners.

Thanks

Tried an attenuator.

When connected and attenuator is at its highest the signal strength is still the same, turn the attenuator down and the signal drops.

Any other suggestions to this low signal?

Maybe a cable amplifier

Net ID and provider is correct, I am getting 300 channels, but SKY NEWS HD is on 54% and picture is breaking up or not there at all. When I have a look in sat finder on my cable tuners the green 'lock' tick keeps dropping off. This is why I think it is the signal. Also tried a cable amp, no joy.

I've posted this many times... If it is only happening on some frequencys and a cable amp doesn't sort it then it is noise feeding back into the system, this is most usually a badly wired connector.. I had a rf plug connected to my downstairs tap that was causing me to sometimes loose channels and break other channels up from my upstairs tap, I replaced all connectors and leads with high quality moulded f-plug leads into rf adaptors and havnt had any problems since.

Will try this, thanks
