It's released by VU as a zapping box.
You'll have to use a 3rd party image or a hack to enable recording functions.

The hack is installation of the PAU plugin.

Pretty sure non-official images such as Vix allow the recording without any user intervention.

Correct: only on PLi one has to install that plugin from their feeds. Other 3rd-party images have it installed by default.
