View Full Version : [ABM-DVB-S/S2] ITV westcountry swap channel issue ??

Hi ! Thanks to any who help in advance !
Running a Vuduo on latest vix 005.

I currently have Autoboquetmaker set as follows ;
Sky UK Area set to Westcountry custom
Swap channels set to yes

The problem is that the ITV channel does not swap the sd version with Westcountry hd version , it swaps it with Central hd version which is Midlands Area I believe?
If i tried it with setting it for London custom and swap , then it will swap it fine ?
Any help and info on how to sort this would be greatly appreciated please as Brummy local news is no good for a Cornishman lol !!

There is no West Country HD ITV channel. So it uses the best alternative. This alternative is choosen by the provider, not ABM.

Ahh , That could be a good reason why then . The joys and perks of living out in the sticks lol !!
Oh well back to sd for me then !

Is there by any chance there is any user input then that will allow Autoboquetmaker to ignore the ITV channel when scanning ,sd/hd swapping ?
In other words swap all other sd to hd channels that are available but leave the ITV as sd ?
Hope that makes a bit of sense ??

Yes, you can. You have to edit the xml file "sat_282_sky_uk.xml" located in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/providers

You have to remove this line

I have also removed the BBC 1 swap as local news isn't on the BBC 1 HD channel. You can still see the HD versions at the top of the HD channel Bouquet

All you got to do is blummin remember BBC 1 (SD) is on 141 and ITV (SD) is on 178.

I know Im being nit picky but it just bugging me that I can have hd channels swapped but not ITV and when local news comes on BBC 1 .
I dont mind redoing it after updating only takes a second .

Not a lot , stuck with sd only lol !
But surely thats why images change to improve things ?
I understand you saying not to mess with those files but if you are capable of doing so why not? If your not confident then leave it well alone !!
Im sure this post has helped a few who want the same thing as me ?

There are other ways to do this without editing the provider's files. Provider's files update with the image updates so will get overwritten.

I have edited the providers files and works fine as is . I realize after an image update it will just be reset and that I will have to do it all again though.
You say there is another way ?
Could you please explain how else it can be done so I wouldnt have edit the provider and not redo on an image update .

You can pm me if you dont want to put it here as I know you mentioned not liking messing with providers xml files.

All you need to do is rename the xml file if you insist on modifying the line, and on the next update your channels won't be affected.

What would I rename it to and would it have any affect on the daily running of the ABM in adjusting the channel changes when they take place ?
Does the whole ABM not get overwritten when doing image update only I assumed the plugin was part of the image ?
I dont pretend to be an expert which is why I need help lol !! I am learning loads though Thanks !!
