cannot ftp to the miraclebox

I need to connect to the box via ftp but i recieve the error "500 oops cannot locate user entry 'nobody'"

Can you let me know how to connect please?

is there a user and password i can connect with?

Use root as the username & leave the password empty.

now the box hangs when booting.
is there anything i can do?
the files were deleted from etc\

I will look into this, just want to confirm that flashing will repopulate the \etc directory which is my problem. cheers

Yes it will. Please do as fat-tony suggests above & have a look at any guides you need.
