View Full Version : signal strength on different receiver
I have bought xtrend et10000 to change for my lx3, was moving lx3 upstairs, so I disconnected everything on lx3 and replaced with my new et10000, using same cables I notice signal strength on cable tuner was only half what the lx3 pulls in, how true are these readings
how true are these readings
I'm still yet to see any true readings from any hybrid tuner. All are false imo. Only way to read correctly is an engineers meter.
thanks for your quick reply

Signal strength isn't interesting at all; you should look at signal quality (SNR) as that's the deciding factor. And a good SNR can be reached at a very low signal level....
But even then Silician's answers applies.
The value can only be used for comparing different services (transponders) on the same box.
