Xtrend ET8000, vol +/- and ch +/- buttons not working

Hello,
Just got my new Xtrend ET8000 up and running.
It seems to be a very good box and well made.
My problem is the volume and channel +/- buttons don't operate for me.
Please tell me is there an easy fix for this or is there something i'm doing wrong?

Make sure the stb button at the top of the remote is on by pressing on it.

Thanks redbellied. That fixed it. My dad had pressed it by mistake
