View Full Version : [VU+ Solo2] MGCAM Not Starting every time

Hi there.

I have recently upgraded to the latest OpenVix version.

I am using MGCAM.

I have set this to auto start with the system, but when the system has been rebooted, it doesn't start properly. I have to go to the Softcam Menu and restart it myself for it to work.

If I wake the system from standby, its fine.

I have installed the softcam from the plugins menu and chose 1.38.

Thanks

have you set up correctly? sometime the Mg_cfg file can play havoc if not config properly

Is it a GUI restart issue? I have the same thing.

I'm using new Vix 3.2 003, with mgcamd 1.38 and I have no problems.

This is my 44523 file that works perfectly fine on v1.38

It works fine after a full restart but the fact is that after an E2 restart or GUI restart if you prefer mgcamd will no longer decode, it's still running if you check from telnet but it won't decode so has to be restarted.

It's been the same since I've been using ViX which includes Apollo, Hades and now 3.2.

EDIT: I should of added if mg is started from telnet then the problem does not exist so it must be down to the image cam manager.

@ maxben

Im not having a go at you here.. or anyone else..
but if your MGcamd aint working correctly.. Im 100% sure.. Its the users set up is the problem..
Ive been using MGcamd on every single Vix image release.. and never ever had an issue..

is this an issue when using the power button to go in standby mode and back?

if not then I guess it wont be a big issue for me.

I don't have an issue with mgcamd and never had really.

I put box into standby when not in use, etc.

Even after a full restart, I have no problems except a longer delay after a restart but it still works and then no delay after.

So you have no problem with mg decoding after an E2 restart ?

I have no issues after a full restart or starting with telnet.

No problem for example with openATV but they use a differend cam manager.

Obsolutley no issues at all.. You even had me wondering there myself..
So i done a GUI restart.. and cam kicked in just as normal..

Thanks so much for this thread guys, much head scratching was done before stumbling across this gem of a thread, I now have it working a treat with vix 3.2 003 and mgcamd 1.38. The thing I couldn't figure was the config fie and the one supplied in #7 is working a treat
