Hi guys I use a ruya plugin on my duo for IPTV tried it through xbmc and its stuttering on some HD playback but the normal plugin plays ok since vix update 3.2 003 and as I have been offered a fire tv box at a silly price wondered if the Fire TV would be that much better a smooth HD iptv playback.

I also have a never used sky now box sitting here is that any good to me for putting xbmc and ruya on

zotac 730i i5 isengard 15.1 10/10
Android M8 isengard 15.1 8/10
Android fire TV isengard 15.1 8/10

Don't bother putting on a sat box useless. I have a VU+ Duo 2 and its naff on that.

If you want to go android box look for quad CPU s802 or s812 mali 450 2gi and 8 gig.
Would not recommend dual core cpu or 400mali as to slow old tech.

You can either load kodi with the android software installed or load on Openelec for type of box you buy.

I have tried ruya on duo2, Fire TV and custom htpc running kodi and never had any hardware related problems with it, any problems where always somewhere else.

Yes I never had any problems with Ruya apart from what you wanted to watch something it didnt work, when you didnt want to watch something it worked.

Invested in a MAG254, Never looked back for IPTV

Would highly recommend Fire TV box (not usb)
Been running mine now for about 5 months (ish) and even on HD with 5.1 sound it does not stop or break up, picture quality is brilliant

I am using a Raspberry Pi 2 and have not even had my Solo 2 on for over a week. Excellent value for money. Regards.

What do you need to know? I presume you know how Kodi and Plex work
Side load Kodi App on to the Fire TV using a program called adbfm. http://www.jocala.com
plex can be downloaded direct from app store http://www.amazon.com/Plex-Inc-for-Android/dp/B004Y1WCDE
