I did ask on another thread, but maybe this is a better thread to ask on.

Does anyone else have an issue with transparent picons not being transparent ?

I have 220x132.transparent-white-nopadding_2015-06-07.rar (http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=%2A%2A%2APicons%2A%2A%2A/Ocram/SNP/220x132/&file=220x132.transparent-white-nopadding_2015-06-07.rar)picons on my Duo2, but in LCD4Linux there is a nasty black background that won't go away.

Did you double check the settings within LCD4Linux settings? Can you show the screenshot?

I have transparent picons and they work fine although my LCD background colour is black ;)

what colour is your LCD background?
If you go to

http://<ipaddress>/lcd4linux/

Do you see the problem there or only on the LCD?

I'll download the picons you're using and test later

Maybe he's saying he can't place anything in the background of the picon. I haven't actually tried it myself yet.

Ok 1st picture is SNP with transparent picons, it does not matter if I have transparency on or off, the result is the same.

2nd picture is with the older type picons again they are transparent with the older version if I turn off transparency then I get the black box.

it's got to be something to do with the picon itself and/or the lcd4linux settings.
I'll try and recreate and work out whats causing it.

Yep, I can confirm the black background.

It could be possible I renamed the wrong ones. Sorry.

Please install the conventional picons and convert them. I usually upload the lamedb file used to create them so that they can be converted with a matching channel. You can put the lamedb file in the /tmp/ directory when you run the rename plugin.

They work fine in the osd, so I don't think you have converted them incorrectly.

They should be the same as the conventional ones. Only name is different.

I save my picons in 32bits and the rest is 8bits.

8bits picons have the black background on LCD.

Ok it must be an issue with this picons, as it's the same with the conventional ones.

Strange that they are transparent when viewed in the infobar / Channel list and also when viewed on the computer.

That will be the issue then, they need to be 32bit for LCD4Linux to see them as transparent.

Unless it could be coded in LCD4Linux?

I'm already looking for a way to batch convert them all to 32 bit :D

I converted all OCRAM PICONS 400x240 SNP (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?42823-OCRAM-PICONS-400x240-SNP) picons to 32 bits and you can download it here (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5757359/picons32bit.rar). 46.5 MB!

If you put them in the flash they will be lost on a reflash. If you put them on HDD there will be a performance hit especially if the HDD needs to spin up. USB flash is ready to go all the time and doesn't get wiped on a reflash.
