The duo has satellite tuners. They are soldered on motherboard so cannot be changed. You can add USB tuners.

The USB tuner for Vu units is here. You'll need to check it with others if it works fien on teh Duo as it is a bit long in the tooth now.

The Sundtek will work on all devices.

While on offer, the xtrend 8000 is very competively priced
http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Xtrend-ET8000-2x-DVB-S2-1x-DVB-C-T-T2?filter_name=ET8000

The Tm 3T Combo has been at a brilliant price all along.

Weigh up selling the duo and buying a new receiver against buying a new tuner. Pretty sure people will bite your hand off for a Duo at £100 +PP if you put it in the cassifieds. Might be an idea to put it at £115 because we have a tendency for silly offers recently.

Duo2 only has two slots for the tuners. if you decide to buy it, make sure you buy a twin satellite tuner module for it. Otherwise you wont be able to plug another tuner in.

If you are happy with total of three tuners, the et8000 is currently the best option. The tuners are changeble, so may be worth buying one of each and then deciding on the third later.

Obviously just my views expressed, wait for other views before deciding.
Some other options are:
TM 3T Combo
Miraclebox Ultra
GB Quad plus
LX3 if you can find Cable tuners for them
Mutant 2400
Duo 2

OK sounds like good option- quick question but my sky has two cabled into it do guess I'll need two sat tuners at least as Virgin only has one.

Hi pete, do you just want the one vm cable feed into box or twin cable? You want a receiver with Twin Satellite and its just deciding the cable side out.

If you want to watch/record from different tranponders (I don't say channels for this type of issue), you need more than one tuner.

With satellite, you cannot split/share a signal cable. With Terrestrail and Cable TV, you can split/share the signal cable or use a "loop through" cable. See this thread about looping out/sharing DVB-C cable

Some ideas here for you;
Mut@nt HD2400 >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/combo-digital-cable-terrestrial-satellite-receivers/Mutant-Combo-Linux-HD-Receivers/Mutant-HD2400-HD-Quad-Tuner-Digital-Receiver-1x-DVB-S-S2-2x-DVB-C-T-T2
Xtrend ET8000 >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/combo-digital-cable-terrestrial-satellite-receivers/Xtrend-Combo-Linux-HD-Receivers/Xtrend-ET8000-2x-DVB-C-T-T2-1x-DVB-S2
Xtrend ET10K >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/combo-digital-cable-terrestrial-satellite-receivers/Xtrend-Combo-Linux-HD-Receivers/Xtrend-ET10000-2x-DVB-C-T-T2-1x-DVB-S2
Out of all these I highly recommend the Mut@nt HD2400 receiver. But thats down to my personal preference and I have a Vu+ Solo2, Vu+ Uno, Xtrend ET10K and the Mut@nt HD2400 amongst my collection. It all comes down to what you want to pay etc, if you are on a budget then look at the Xtrend ET8000, a bargain at that price!
