Acer laptop with Windows 7

My acer laptop wil see usb drives provided they are powered i.e I tb hard drive. But will not pick up pen drives. I have gone into device manager and deleted all usb devices and rebooted but still will not pick them up.But in the PC they work fine

ITs probley a chipset incompatability i have a few external drives that dont pick up on my toshiba laptop but pick up fine on mt home desktop PC

Got it sorted took the usb card reader that comes with the laptop out and plugged the pen drive in and it picked it up straight away. Will have to remember next time want to use it
