I'm using the vixbmc 1080 confluence skin and want to use the mk picons
On looking at them on the download section I see 5 available.
Which one of the 5 do I download?

I'm going to using external HD to store them...
Do I just place in HDD/picon folder or do I need to do it a different way

Thanks

Just place them in the root of the drive in a folder called 'picon' Then tell vix where they are.

I asked to elaborate a bit more as i will be transferring the file by using my laptop as it picks up my lx2 as to using filezilla.as the laptop picks it up under networks automatically

Do not place picons on HDD. With picons on HDD, HDD needs to spin up every time you need to access a picon.

Place them in /media/usb/picon.

Will I have to have the usb constantly in the box

Yes.

Or you could put them in the flash (/picon). But MK takes a lot of space (220MB) so that depends if your STB has sufficient space.

There's no need to be disrespectful, I was only trying to help you out with an answer.

I have an 840 pro SSD in mine with timeshift enabled, I sometimes wonder how much wear I'm putting on it.

I used to think about it, but then mine has been going for the last 3 years or so, on Permo Time Shift and had no problems (frantically touching wood!!) -- More think about how much electricity is uses... Haha....
